Little Jasmine, We Made It Home
For a long time, I thought healing meant building a better life around myself.
A cleaner home.
A safer home.
A calmer home.
And I did.
But somewhere along the way, I realized I was also learning to become the kind of person Little Jasmine could finally trust.
The adult who doesn’t yell.
The supervisor who gives breaks.
The woman who notices when something hurts.
The one who stays.
I didn’t just build a peaceful home.
I became one.
Same Bander, Different Woman
I returned to the same place where I once lived in survival mode and realized the station had not changed nearly as much as I had. Same bander. Different woman.
There was Never a Trophy There
For years, I thought winning meant finally being chosen by the person who once rejected me. Then I asked myself a question that changed everything: What exactly was I trying to win? I didn’t want the chaos, betrayal, anxiety, or life that came with the supposed prize. Somewhere along the way, I had already won—I just hadn’t looked around long enough to notice. The life I created is the prize. The woman I became is the prize. I walked myself home.
After Healing isn’t all Sunshine and Rainbows
I used to think healing would make life easier. Instead, it made me harder to hijack. The interruptions didn’t disappear—I simply learned to meet them with a little more presence, a little more humor, and a lot more grace.
When Survival is Your Nature
I had become so practiced at surviving that I stopped giving myself credit for it. Now life is asking something entirely new of me—not to endure more, but to let peace become as natural as survival once was.
Reset, Regulate, Re-Enter
Life will flash red lights. Machines will break. Plans will change. The invitation isn’t to be perfect—it’s to pause, breathe, and remember how to come home to yourself.
