Worth it
I was talking to a coworker and he asked if I was single.
I said no, I was married for 6 weeks but I’m no longer married but I do have a live in boyfriend now.
He smiled and said “I bet you are worth it.”
The investigator in me wanted to ask worth what?
But the philosopher in me said “shh.. leave it open ended because we get to decide what we are worth.”
I guess that is the beauty of healing I’m no longer asking what is my worth but living from it!!
❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
I am worth healing for.
I know because I chose to heal me.
I am worth showing up for.
I know because I show up for me.
I am worth working for.
I know because every time I clock in, I am helping create the life I want to live.
I am worth protecting.
I know because I finally learned to have boundaries.
I am worth staying for.
I know because every morning I wake up and choose to participate fully in this beautiful, messy, ordinary life as Jasmine.
I am worth loving.
I know because I stopped waiting for someone else’s love to prove it and began loving myself.
I know my worth!! I got the receipts!!
I didn’t sit around waiting for someone else to determine Jasmine’s market value.
I invested in her.
Two years of healing.
Two years of uncomfortable truths.
Two years of catching shadows.
Two years of choosing differently.
Two years of learning to stay when things inside me got uncomfortable.
And look who emerged.
The woman in the red lipstick. 💄
The woman in the giant pink bow. 🎀
The Factory-Floor Joy Fairy. 🧚♀️
The People’s Princess. 👸
The mother.
The gardener.
The writer.
The woman who finally stopped waiting to be appointed to the position of herself.
So…
Is Jasmine worth it?
You bet your ass she is. 😎
🌷 Closing Reflection
Before you leave the garden…
Someone, somewhere, may tell you that you’re worth it.
Receive the kindness.
But don’t leave your worth in someone else’s hands.
Instead, ask yourself:
What are the receipts I’ve collected that remind me I am already worth showing up for?
Maybe you’ve survived something that once felt impossible.
Maybe you’ve apologized when you needed to.
Maybe you’ve kept a promise to yourself.
Maybe you’ve planted a garden.
Maybe you’ve gone to therapy.
Maybe you’ve learned to rest.
Maybe you’ve simply made it through another ordinary Tuesday with more grace than yesterday.
Those are receipts.
Your worth isn’t determined by applause.
It’s revealed every time you choose yourself with love.
So today, remember:
You don’t have to wait for someone else to appoint you to the position of being yourself.
You’ve always belonged there.
Welcome home.
🌼
