You Are the Observer
One of the most freeing things I have ever learned is this:
You are not your thoughts.
You are the one noticing them.
You are not your emotions.
They are messengers.
When a difficult emotion shows up, instead of immediately believing it or pushing it away, try getting curious.
Ask it:
“What are you trying to show me?”
Then gently pull the thread.
“I feel ______.”
Why?
“I feel this because ______.”
Why?
Keep following the thread until you reach the belief underneath the feeling.
When you find it, ask yourself one more question:
Is it true?
Sometimes you’ll discover that the belief isn’t actually true about you at all.
That’s when healing begins.
You can gently update your story.
You are not your thoughts.
You are not your feelings.
You are the awareness noticing both.
And awareness changes everything.
Because once you remember that, something shifts.
You no longer have to react automatically.
You get to respond consciously.
Reaction says:
“It just happened. I couldn’t help it.”
Response says:
“I have a choice.”
That choice is where your freedom lives.
🌷 Closing Reflection
Before you leave the garden…
The next time a strong emotion arises, don’t rush to fix it or fight it.
Instead, pause.
Take one gentle breath and ask:
“What are you trying to tell me?”
Keep following the thread with curiosity instead of judgment.
You may discover that beneath today’s emotion is an old belief that’s simply asking to be seen.
Awareness doesn’t erase your humanity.
It gives you the freedom to meet it with love.
